For thousands of years before the word "Reiki" was introduced the laying on of hands to help heal the sick was being used. In the bible, in the gospel of Luke it says “and they shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover”, so before the time of Christ there was the use of Reiki.  
 
All energy comes from the source creator what ever name one may call him or her, God, Buddha, or one of the thousands of other names one may call him. All energy then comes from the creator. We speak of the light and true light is life giving energy is like light we can’t always see it or feel it but it is there. Energy is all around us so it is safe to say that the creator is all around us willing to heal with a touch. The touch of someone that has the faith, that their touch will make a difference in the healing process of some ones life.
 
This system will be different, in that it requires faith, faith in yourself as a healer, faith in your God by what ever name you call him, and the faith that by laying on of hands one may be made to recover from the sickness they have. Christ raised the dead, all we have to do is have faith that we can cause by our actions one to recover. Our actions affect the well being of people, animals, and the earth its self. Our actions make us sick and if this is true then other actions can make us whole again.
 
Love must be in our heart before we heal anyone I believe no matter what system we are using. I know many pagan don’t like Crowley but he said, “love is the whole of the law”. I believe he was right that with out love there is nothing but, with love there is healing. There are also examples of distant healing in the bible Christ did this several time. So with love in our hearts and faith in our lives we may go forth to heal ourselves and others.
